Garden Maintenance in Falsterbo
Falsterbo is Sweden's southernmost town and one of the most exclusive locations on the Falsterbo peninsula. The area is characterised by large villas, premium holiday homes, formally clipped hedges, pool areas and well-kept gardens against the Baltic backdrop, with Falsterbohus golf club, the lighthouses and the bird reserve forming the wider landscape. 90% of households here live in villas and lot sizes routinely sit in the premium segment.
We work with two categories of Falsterbo customer. Year-round homes need ongoing care across the whole year, with continuity and a single point of contact for everything from spring start to winter snow. Holiday properties need the garden in shape ahead of summer stays, kept under watch during the off-season, and looked after through storm events even when nobody is at the property. We adapt the contract structure to which category you are in.
Falsterbo: year-round and holiday properties
Year-round customers. Use the villa all year and want ongoing care:
- Season contracts April through October covering lawn, hedge and beds.
- Snow removal November through March as an add-on or a separate contract.
- Standby for storm damage and urgent tree work.
- The same two-person team across visits for continuity and quality.
- Monthly report by email.
Holiday-home customers. Use the villa primarily May through September:
- Before season start (March or April): spring cleanup, lawn preparation, the first mow of the year, hedges measured for the season's trims.
- During summer stays (May through August): intensive care, tighter mowing schedule, immediate response to needs, coordinated visits ahead of events and guests.
- Between stays: watering of pots, bed care, keeping the property inviting on the off-chance you drop down for a weekend.
- Closing (September or October): fall cleanup, winter preparation, outdoor furniture moved indoors.
- Winter period: monitoring and written reports of any issues (storm damage, water damage after a freeze, branches across a path).
Communication runs via email and SMS so you can update us from wherever you are.
What is special about Falsterbo
Constant salt wind. The Falsterbo peninsula is one of Sweden's most wind-exposed coastal areas. That has concrete consequences for garden care:
- Plants with thin leaves or sensitive flowers (some roses, certain magnolias) struggle in exposed positions.
- Trees need good stem development. Early structural pruning is more important here than further inland.
- Hedges along the western property line take more weather and sometimes need extra care.
- Storm risk in autumn and winter. We offer standby for risk branches and post-storm cleanup as part of every year-round contract.
Sandy soil. Like the rest of the peninsula, sand dominates underfoot:
- Fast drainage and a need for tighter irrigation during dry periods.
- Regular fertilising to compensate for nutrient leaching.
- Plant choices that handle sandy ground (sand sedge, lavender, rugosa roses, sea buckthorn).
- Lighter soil work for planting and bed maintenance.
Exclusive villas with pool areas. We adapt methods around sensitive features:
- No chemical weeding near the pool.
- Careful manual work on teak decking, stone tiles and reinforced glass features.
- Smaller, lighter equipment for the immediate pool surround.
- Discreet working hours so as not to disturb you or your guests during summer stays.
Large lots. Many Falsterbo villas are 1,000 to 2,500+ m² with substantial lawn areas and long perimeter hedges. We have ride-on mowers and the right equipment for the scale.
Common assignments in Falsterbo
The classic formal-hedge contract. A 50 m run of 3 m clipped thuja or yew along the road-side property line. Two trims per season, platform work, clippings hauled the same day. We photograph the hedge each spring as a reference profile.
The holiday-home season package. Pre-season cleanup in late April, intensive care through July and August, closing visit in October, off-season monitoring across the winter. The entire package on a single annual quote.
Heritage tree management. A 60-year-old apple or pear on a Falsterbo property, dropping fruit and shading half the lawn. Three seasons of careful crown reduction in the JAS window, with dead wood and crossing branches taken first.
Post-storm cleanup. Major autumn weather events trigger automatic dispatch for contract customers promptly, with risk branches removed and a follow-up quote produced for any structural work needed.
Pricing and the RUT-avdrag in Falsterbo
All our services in Falsterbo are eligible for the RUT-avdrag (50% labor tax deduction). For readers new to the Swedish system:
- The labor portion of every invoice is automatically discounted by 50%.
- The cap is 75,000 SEK per person per year, or 150,000 SEK per couple in the same household.
- We are registered for F-skatt (registered Swedish business tax), which is the prerequisite for applying the deduction on your behalf. You do nothing administratively; we file every report with Skatteverket.
- Material costs (soil, plants, gravel) are not RUT-eligible, but for most Falsterbo contracts labor accounts for 90%+ of the total.
RUT cuts the labor cost by 50% directly on the invoice. For larger exclusive properties with pool areas, formal hedges and multiple service components, the figure can run higher. More on the RUT page.

How to get started
Get in touch by phone or the contact form and we will book a free site visit in Falsterbo. The inspection is at no charge and entirely without obligation. We walk the garden together, listen to your preferences (including holiday-home arrangements if relevant), photograph anything load-bearing for the quote, and send a written fixed-price quote promptly.
We do not start work until you have accepted the quote in writing. For Falsterbo properties we routinely sign a non-disclosure agreement before the inspection if you prefer; we never publish customer addresses, names or photographs without explicit written consent. Once the contract is signed, you have a named contact who responds promptly and a fixed team that returns through the season.
